Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

wow talk about buying the vote... if you have family in jail for a drug crime or ones that need a job or finacial aid.
dont think it's a horrible thing but are current prisoners counted in the national unemployment rate?
if not i can expect this to lead to a small jump in unemployment at the start of the ression..
still it would be nice to not be the most incarcerating country on the planet.

I don't think he's just trying to "buy the vote". He's been arguing against the drug war since 1988 at least. He really is the only candidate who's serious about this issue.

i knew someone would take what i said like that as the term "buying the vote" is normally stated with negativity,
I think it is great
but as for buying the vote, what i mean is it gives real people a real honest to goodness change to look forward to if they elect this guy.. this isnt some kind of thing he has no power over.. it isnt like most politicians claims to fix SS or to fix immigration...this is something he has total power over and something he could actually do on day one.
And no matter how you feel about the drug war, for most of these families with people behind bars this is a major change for the better.(for them)
and thats what i meant about buying the vote. In no way did i mean it negative but i did mean to use a negative term in a good way, just doesnt come over welll without the inflections and body language,

I'd love to see this happen. I'd also like to see a thorough scrutiny of people in prison for life because of '3 strike' laws that have no violent convictions. There are people in prison for life for stealing cars! That's stupid.

our system isnt run by computers for a reason.
there is a reason we have judges.
we dont want peopel to walk on the grass when we are growing new grass.. but if it is to save a child we dont give a crap..
we have judges and juries as the world isnt black and white.

Two underage kids sending maked pictures of each other to each other should be punished but not put on the sex offender list for life.

I really would like to see the supreme court rule on this usurping of power from the judiciary.

when you make mandatory minimums, 3 strike laws and such, you take the decision making process away from the judge,

The War on Drugs --- one of the most expensive failures in Mankind's history. Want to see a deficit become surplus? or extra revenue? Rather than ad a 50 cent gas tax as one commission recently suggest, legalize marijuana and tax it as you do cigerettes. Heck, let's splurge allow mild forms of cocaine too, really cut into terrorists profits and legalize some opium. Let's get crazy! Tax the crap out of those who would otherwise contribute very little to society.
      Sincerely(and some sincere humor),
      The Whiz
